I
had dinner with a group at Pippa Arend's last night; a scotch tasting
and dinner to benefit p:ear. It was a wonderful and convivial evening;
the kind of evening I suspect your father would have enjoyed. Pippa
was kind
enough to provide me with a good cigar for my walk home.
Being
without matches, and seeing a box of Benihana matches in the bathroom, I
picked them up, and eventually headed out into the evening. When I
opened them to light my cigar, I realized the unintended scope of my
larceny.
The
matches will go back to Pippa (minus the one essential match for my
cigar). And thanks for the inadvertent look at your project in honor of
your father. What father could ask for more than that his child
understood him
as sympathetically as you do yours.
